공동체 사회를 살아가는 우리는 원하든 원하지 않든 필연적으로 타인과의 관계를 맺으며 살아간다.

작가는 물 위에 스포이드로 물감을 떨어트렸을 시에 물결이 일고 본연의 형태가 일그러지게 되는 현상에서 아이디어를 얻어, 이를 소재로 인간 존재의 불완전함과 불확실성에 대해 이야기하고자 한다. 우리는 항상 완성된 상태를 갈망하고 완벽을 추구하지만 그것은 불가능할 수밖에 없는 욕구이며 인간은 불완전한 상태에서 벗어날 수 없는 존재이다. 이를 가장 잘 나타내는 흔한 예로, 우리가 삶을 살아가며 끊임없이 다양한 방향으로의 감정의 동요를 느끼게 된다는 것과 그것의 불명확성이라는 특성을 들 수 있다. 앞서 말한 스포이드처럼 외부의 자극이 있을 때 그 자극을 받는 주체는 어떤 방식으로든 흔들리기 마련이다. 동요한다는 커다란 사실은 같지만 그 속의 감정의 종류나 양상, 크기, 방향 같은 세부적인 특징들은 천차만별이다.

필연적으로 맺어지는 타인과의 관계 속에서, 스포이드에서 떨어지는 물감의 모양과 양 또한 아주 다양하다. 굳이 부정적인 감정에 국한되는 것은 물론 아니다. 그 물감이 사랑의 감정을 이끌어내는 모양이라면 그 속에서 설렘, 불안, 집착, 외로움이나 혹은 유대감도 발견될 수 있을 것이다. 한 번 퍼져나간 감정의 다양성을 마주하게 되는 것이다. 아무리 노력해도 타인과의 관계에 있어 초연해지기 힘든 우리는 관계를 맺을 때 겪는 모든 감정들을 감내하며 살아간다. 내가 겪는 것이 흔한 일들이라 해도 직접적으로 다가왔을 때의 크기는 생각보다 크다. 마치 나비효과처럼 작은 것에서 시작해 결국 본인 자체의 모든 것을 지배할 수 있을 만큼 커지기도 하는 것이다.

작가는 위와 같이 사회적 동물인 인간의 보편적인 경험과 감정에 대해 표현하고 공유한다. 인간관계 속에서 벌어지는 다양한 사건과 그로부터 경험할 수 있는 철학적 고찰이 가능한 다양한 감정들과 인간 본성에 대해 작업하고자 한다. <불완전한 존재들>, <나는 이곳에서 벗어날 수 있을까>가 이러한 작업의 철학적 기반을 포괄적이고 직접적으로 드러낸 작품들로써 그 첫걸음이다. <낭만의 파도>는 작가의 첫 번째 연작 작품이며 가장 강하고 그 속에서의 감정의 양상이 다양하다는 특성을 가지고 있는 ‘사랑’을 키워드로 작업하였다. 그 후 <무엇을 위한 해체>를 기점으로 작가는 환상적 공간에서의 트라우마 해소라는 주제를 잡아 가상으로 만들어낸 환상적 공간 속에서 트라우마를 아름답게 해소하고자 한다. 번외로,  <LOVE ESQUISSE>라는 영상 작업은 트라우마 해소를 목적으로 한 작업의 일부분으로 사랑에 대한 단상들을 포장하거나 은유하지 않고 아주 직접적으로 드러낸 작업물이다.

We, who live in a community, inevitably relate to others whether we want to or not.

The painter wants to talk about the imperfections and uncertainties of human existence based on the idea that when the paint is dropped on the water with a spuit, waves rise and the original form is distorted. We always yearn for a complete state and pursue perfection, but it is an impossible desire and human beings cannot escape from an incomplete state. The common examples that best represent this are the characteristics that we constantly feel emotional agitation in various directions throughout our lives and its uncertainty. As mentioned earlier, when there is an external stimulus, the subject that is stimulated is bound to be shaken in some way. The great fact of agitation is the same, but the detailed characteristics of the emotions within them, such as their type, shape, size, and direction, vary widely.

In the inevitable relationship with others, the shapes and quantities of paint falling from the spuit are also very diverse. Of course, it is not necessarily limited to negative emotions. If the paint is shaped to elicit feelings of love, you can find excitement, thrill, romance, anxiety, obsession, loneliness, or bond in it. You will face the diversity of emotions that have spread once. No matter how hard we try, we can't stay aloof from other people's relationships, so we endure all the emotions we experience when we have a relationship. Even though it is common for we to go through, the size of the direct approach is bigger than we thought. Like the butterfly effect, it starts with a small one and eventually grows big enough to dominate everything in itself.

As above, the painter expresses and shares the universal experiences and emotions of human beings, which are social animals. I would like to work on various events in human relationships, various emotions that can be experienced from them. "Incomplete beings" and "Can I Get Out of Here" are the first steps as comprehensive and direct revealing of the philosophical foundation of this subject. <Romantic Wave> is the first series of works and it has a keyword "Love," which has the strongest characteristics and various aspects of emotions in it. After that, with the beginning of "Dimantle for ...," the artist aims to beautifully resolve the trauma in a fantastic space created by virtually. In addition, a video "LOVE ESQUISSE" is a very direct manifestation of the thoughts for love without packaging or metaphoricalizing as part of a work aimed at relieving trauma.
